Energy-Efficiency AC & Heat Pump Rebates

  • Air Conditioner
    $100 Rebate
    Split systems SEER2 15.2, EER2 12.0 (Package units SEER2 15.2, EER2 11.5)

  • Air Conditioner
    $350 Rebate
    Split systems SEER2 16.0 and EER2 12.0 (Package units SEER2 16.0 and EER2 11.5)

  • Heat Pump
    $100 Rebate
    Split systems SEER2 15.2, EER2 11.0, and HSPF2 7.8

  • Heat Pump
    $350 Rebate
    Split systems SEER2 16.0, EER2 11.0, and HSPF2 8.0 (Package units SEER2 15.2, EER2 10.0, HSPF2 7.2)

  • Heat Pump (water source style)
    $750 Rebate
    EER 17.1 and COP 3.6 (closed loop); or EER 21.1 & COP 4.1 (open loop)

  • Water Heater (heat pump style)
    $300 Rebate
    ENERGY STAR Certified. Rebate unavailable if replacing natural gas water heating

Existing Homes

Other Conditions and Requirements:

  • Rebates are subject to change without notice and are subject to approval.
  • For rebates to be paid, this application must be completed entirely and submitted with required documentation (see above).
  • Rebates cannot exceed the total installed cost for the appliance(s).
  • Rebate application must be received within 90 days of the installation's Final Inspection Date.
  • Rebates are paid to the property owner or installing contractor for equipment retrofits in existing homes. Not applicable to equipment installed during new construction prior to receiving a Certificate of Occupancy (CO).
  • The qualifying equipment must be installed in a permanent residence receiving City of Tallahassee electric service.
  • An installation permit and a Completed (passed) final inspection are required.
  • Air conditioning and heat pump rebates are for permitted, inspected installations of complete, AHRI-matched systems with an AHRI certificate.
  • Rebates are not paid for unmatched systems having no AHRI certificate

New Homes

Other Conditions and Requirements:

  • Rebates are subject to change without notice and are subject to approval.
  • For rebates to be paid, this application must be completed entirely and submitted with required documentation (see above).
  • In new construction, rebates are paid to the homebuilder, not to the homebuyer, equipment vendor or the installing contractor for HVAC installations completed prior
    to issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy (CO).
  • For multifamily new construction: Qualifying residential units must utilize natural gas for water heating. If natural gas is unavailable and gas main extension to the site
    is denied by the City's Gas Utility, units must utilize an ENERGY STAR (ES) certified electric water heater with Energy Factor (EF) 2.0 or greater; or ES certified solar
    water heating.
  • Rebates cannot exceed the total installed cost for the appliance(s).
  • Rebate application must be received within 90 days of the installation's Final Inspection Date.
  • The qualifying equipment must be installed in a permanent residence receiving City of Tallahassee electric service.
